Drinking Straw

Drinking straw is a short tube used for transferring a liquid - usually a drink from one location to another (such as from a cup, to one's mouth). The earliest drinking straws were hollow stems of grass, literally made of straw. Drinking straws become very common nowadays, but do you know that drinking straws did not become popular until 1888 when the modern drinking straw was patented by Marvin C. Stone. In 1888, Marvin Stone patented the spiral winding process to manufacture the first paper drinking straws. From then on, drinking staws enter thousands of families and become one of the indispensale part of one's daily life.
